My shell has become less yellow nowadays, I don’t know why…maybe because I’m getting older ;p here are some pictures of my glorious yellow days 🙂

About Kroten

My name is taken from Schildkroten (Turtles in German). I am a morph Red ear Slider. My Mommy adopted me on March 19, 2008. I am the oldest in Novroz's turtle family :)

The yellow is nice. I have never seen such a yellow in a turtle. The turtles I see here are all grey. She isn’t all that big. How big will she be when she is fully grown? And how long do they live? The parents of a friend of mine have a turtle that is over 40 years old. He doesn’t live in the water. I feed him tomatoes occasionally. He likes it a lot.

She is a Morph RES, a rarity but not as rare as albino. I never thought she will become this yellow when I bought her. She becomes darker now because I think she is preparing herself to shed.

Normally, RES will grow till 7 to 12 inches. Kroten still can grow bigger.
If they are fully cared, they can live up to 40 years, at least 30 years.

The one who lives in land is usually called as Tortoise. I want one but can’t afford the price, one day I will own one 🙂
