Adventure #4 – Papoe and The Gray World
Little Papoe the short necked pink belly turtle enjoys walking on green grass. He likes to smell the grass. Not only grass, he likes everything green, that includes his food. His neighborhood is full of trees with green leaves. Basically, everything around him is green.
One morning, when little Papoe wakes and looks out of the window, he is so surprise to see that his beautiful world of green has turned into the gloomy world of gray. All the green leaves on the tree have fallen down, all the trees are leafless. He sees all the burned leaves are covering the soil. He is incredibly surprise he can’t even close his mouth, in fact his jaw almost drops.
“What had happened to my neighborhood?” thinks Papoe, “what had happened to the trees and the grass?” Papoe tries to remember if something happened last night when he was sleeping. How could he miss all the commotion?
Little Papoe walks out of his house. The sound of the burned leaves on his feet scares him to death. He keeps on turning his head to his left and right, trying to see if there’s still a bit of green out there.
He meets a little green frog who is almost covered with gray burned leaves, he almost didn’t see him.
“What had happened here? Can you please tell me, little Frog,” asks Papoe politely.
“A man fell asleep on that bench and he dropped his cigarette on a bunch of dry leaves. In few minutes, the fire became bigger and bigger and ate the entire neighborhood,” Answers the little frog. He is crying.
Papoe is beyond surprise now…he is so scared. He is afraid that he cannot see the green trees or walk on the green grass anymore. He is terrified.
…something warm touches him.
He wakes up finding he is saved in his mommy’s hand. It’s all just a dream, the scariest dream he ever has.
Happy Halloween everyone🙂
Hope you don’t have any scary dreams on Halloween🙂
