So sorry if I can’t all your comments as soon as you want because being a working mother really takes all my time away from blogging.
I will answers all your comments when I finally have time…mostly during school’s holiday.
Hello guys 🙂
It has been ages since I last wrote here. Just to let you know what had happened with our new family, I am getting closer to my dad every day. Mommy was often late with the camera so no proof there, but I often chase my dad…maybe because we have the same skin colour 😉 (My dad is quite dark)
Mommy still let us play around the house as it is one of her way to make us part of the family. Papoe is rarely out because when she is out, she will go straight under the bed which makes mommy a bit difficult to get her out. Papoe is still very shy. Kroten and I are always easy to call so mommy let us out more often.
I found this interesting part in the house and decided to use it as my playground 😉
But recently…Kroten also thinks that this part of the house is interesting…so I have to share with her now.
Here are some pictures of us playing there:
It’s been a while since my last post…NO I didn’t forget about them. My dearest Kroten, Papoe and Kurome are still one of my priorities but lots of things caused me to have blogging hiatus. I will share it in my own blog later (Polychrome Interest)
Anyway I want to share a bit of story first. I once posted a picture of their clean tanks and one of my colleagues commented, “You’re still taking care of them? remember your baby!” I can understand why someone said something like that…because he never had a pet!! My answer was simple, “How can I neglect my adopted children just because I am going to have my biological child?“
Yes…they are from different species but they are also my children…I love them wholeheartedly.
I haven’t been posting this series in ages!! Last month I found Kroten sleeping like this for almost two hours!! It was so cute and only a turtle can do this 😉
The Unusual Sleeping Position series> here
I can’t believe I have had her for 8 years now 🙂
I still can remember the day I brought her home. She was light green, different to other turtles in the shop who were dark green, a bit sick with some rotten parts on her carapace and plastron; and has no nails at all. I was and still am glad that she got over her sickness and grows to be a healthy and smart turtle. Her color, just like Papoe, is also changing over the year.
Here are two pictures of her wen I first brought her to her new home. The quality is not good because I only used my mobile phone’s not so good camera….but you still see how cute she was and how pale he color was.
Sorry to say this is a late post 😦
Being a working housewife sure takes all my time away. I do remember her gotcha day BUT I hardly had time to sit in front of the computer and start writing about her special gotcha day. I hope she forgives me for this late Gotcha day post 😉
I got Papoe 4 years ago, in March 11, 2012 to be exact. She was soooo tiny and sooo cute. I am happy to say that I got her from a breeder, she was not captured from the wild. Papoe’s species is not the type you can find anywhere, she is a bit rare…it’s easier to find her type here because she belongs in Papua (hence her name is Papoe – read pa-poo)
She is still the shyest in the family but she sure is the prettiest in the family. She changes into a beautiful turtle so different to when I first got her.
Let’s see how she has changed so much:
The first few days after I bring her home, pay attention to her dark colour.
4 year old Papoe, so bright…but still has the same smile
I have three turtles, four if you count my baby Kamechan who had passed away. All four of them have their own personal act when it comes to camera time. Kame was a great model, I alwyas got good shot of her. Kroten followed her older sister’s habit so I always got great shot of her too. Papoe is the shy one but it is easy to get a good picture of her…now, my only boy is a totally different!! He is always running away and so hard to have a good picture of him.
Here’s 13 pictures of Kurome and his sisters.
1. An Old Picture, I was trying to put them in stack and of course Kurome wouldn’t even stay on Kroten for longer than 2 seconds
As Papoe had mentioned in her post (Perfect Shed), we had 2 good news. Papoe has shred hers last week…now It’s time for me to share the other good news.
The good news is …… #DrumRolls …. Mommy is pregnant \(^_^)/
So….that means we will have a hu-sibling 🙂
She/he is only 4 weeks old now, the doctor said it’s still only the pocket. Next month we can see the baby inside the pocket. I hope our future hu-sibling is a boy, but boy or girl is okay.
You can the USG result here. The small round pocket on the top left is our future hu-sibling
I have great news for everyone 🙂
Well…actually we have 2 good news but Kroten will share the other news two days from now 😉
Now, I want to share good news regarding my shell. I have had my perfect shed \(^_^)/
If you don’t know what shedding is you can read all about it here> Turtle Fact #9: Scutes.
This is the latest picture of me during my shedding process:
How is everyone???
I hope everyone is healthy and Happy 🙂
First of all, as Mommy already shared in her previous post (here) WE HAVE A DADDY NOW!!! \(^_^)/
We are sooooo very happy that Mommy really keeps her words that when she decides to get marry, she will have someone who can accept us and loves us as well. We haven’t got pictures of us with him yet but we will soon 🙂
Mommy got married in December and then we straight away moved in to this rented house. We are no longer live in her school’s dormitory (You can read a bit about her getting married in link above). I am not bragging here…but I am proud to say that I am Daddy’s favorite 😉
Here’s a picture of our beloved Mommy and Daddy
I just realized that WordPress has no reblog option anymore so I can’t reblog my post at Polychrome Interest to this blog 😦
Anyway…sorry to have abandoned Underneath The Shell for quite so long…but things will be changed soon as I am beginning to adjust now.
So…what had been going on were these:
You can read more about it here> Reasons for my long Hiatus
Stories of my babies will be back in this blog soon…somewhere this week 😉
We will try to visit you all again soon…hope everyone is doing well (hug)
I do believe you have noticed that our blog is a bit abandoned…well very abandoned to be precised. This will go on a bit longer than we thought.
In our last post, we wrote that “Mommy has been extremely busy with both her work and her private life“. Her work is currently in its busiest moment where she has to prepare the report card for end of semester and preparing the properties of her school’s concert. Her school always has school concert in the end of the year. So she has her hands full with her work. When she is not working, she prefers to play with us instead of helping us updating our blog (and her blog as well). Other than that…we are going to share a bit of Mommy’s private life which will also concerned us. Soon, we will have a hu-dad…Yes! Inshaa Allah (if Allah wills it) she will get married this month.
Thankfully, though our future dad is not a reptile lover but he knows well how much Mommy loves us and he will accept us in the family…well, I think it’s more like we will accept him in our happy little family 😉
To prove that our future dad agrees with Mommy’s love for reptiles, they often went dating where there were gathering of reptile lovers. Mommy loves to see all the reptiles there and sometimes, when she felt like it, she had a picture with one of the reptiles.
Here are the pictures, look at how happy Mommy’s face when she held them…BUT I can assure you that her happiest face is when she is with us 😉
With bearded dragon. She really wants to have one of these.
