It’s time to continue sharing the differences of my two  little turtles 🙂

Previous differences can be read here in part 1.

I ended my last post in differences on Kame and Kroten’s neck, let’s move on to their other body parts.

7. Arm

I don’t know if you can see it clearly in these pictures, Kame has shorter arm than Kroten, not only shorter but also wider. Maybe it’s because Kroten is skinnier than Kame. I love seeing how different their hands are…so cute. But, Kroten is the one who often pulls her hands inside, Kame rarely put her hands inside.

8. Nails

These pictures had been published before in I Want To Hold Your Hand along with Toga’s hand. You can see that Kroten has much shorter nails than Kame. When I first got her, she had no nails at all…some said she was infected with a kind of virus or bacteria because of bad environment (Read: bad pet shop). Fortunately they started growing less than a year later. Kame’s nail are normal from the beginning.

9.Palms

Their patterns look similar but not quite the same…kinda remind me of our finger prints…right?

10. Legs

Just like her arms, Kroten has longer legs than Kame.

That’s all I can share about their physical appearance, next I will tell you how different their behavior are. There will be less pictures compare this and the previous post

The both have such cute little arms, long and thin, or short and stout, they are both very cute.

  2. catcalls says:

Chubby arms and legs for Kame! She has a toddler body!

  3. Nekoneko says:

I think it is sweet that mommy knows you both so well. 🙂

I spend lots of time doing the same with my little cat too… and it’s amazing how well you come to know every little nook and crannie of your pets and all their little quirks. Just like people, they are all individuals and you love each one just a little bit differently because they are special in their own way.

Isn’t it fun paying attention to our pets? Even if Kame and Kroten are identical (they are not because Kroten is a morph), I believe they will still have many differences that only I know…and that goes to other pet owners. My friend Caroline has 2 identical black cats but she still can tell them apart.

No one knows our pets better than us How many cats do you have Miyuki?

      • Nekoneko says:

Right now only one… her name is Ting-Ting. I would have another, but our apartment is small and so it’s better to have just her.

I have always had a cat throughout most of my life, every since I was a little girl. At one time when I was about 6 or 7 we had 6 at one time…. and it was just like having a big passel of brothers and sisters around the house. (Hmmm? Maybe that’s why I think I’m a Catgirl now that I’m grown up… 🙂 )

      • Novroz says:

6 or 7? that’s quite a lot. My friend, Mery, often has that much too.
Hahaha animals can be the best relative sometimes 😉

      • Binky says:

What does being a morph mean, turtle-wise?

      • Novroz says:

Morph is how we call animals that look different then their normal look, kinda like albino but not that extreem.

Normal turtle will look like Kame, Kroten is much lighter and yellow which is not normal in the outside appearance of a RES. Although now she isn’t as yellow as she used to be due to her shedding process. I will show you how yellow she used to next week.

  4. Jenn says:

This is so sweet, so many people overlook that animals are all different!

  5. lifewith4cats says:

I was overcome with cuteness when I got to the palms. I just wanted to plant kisses on those cute tootsies.

    • Novroz says:

Aw…they would love that…but you have to be salmonela-tolerance first 😉 I kiss them so many time that those little bacteria seemed not working anymore….I hope.

  6. colleenie says:

The pics are good. I can tell the difference. What’s impossible to detect though is which one is cuter! 🙂

  7. Fun blog! I’ve just picked up a Malayan Box Turtle from the street. As he’s Cites App II he clearly needs to be in the wild making little MBTs. I’m in the process of checking this out but may be in touch for advice.

    • Novroz says:

Hi Katz, thank you for stopping by.
Malayan Box is the one who can put all hands and head inside the shell and the shell will close them up, right?
Hope you’ll love your turtle 🙂

  8. Binky says:

Kame is the strong muscular one, and Kroten is the long skinny one! They are both cute, though! These are the kinds of differences you would probably only notice by having them together like you do.

    • Novroz says:

I like that Muscular and skinny description. You’re right Bink, I got them all these years and that makes it easier to spot how difference they really are.

  9. Tony McGurk says:

    • Kame says:

Hi Dixie…it’s been a while since the last time you visited us….nice to see you and your unique doggie language 🙂

Turtles aren’t supposed to clip their claws because there is nerve in them…but because we love climbing on Mommy’s legs and feet, our sharp claws really hurt her skin so she clips only the sharp edge once in a while. No monthly or weekly schedule, only when she feels they are too sharp for her skin.

  11. bikram says:

Nice tiny little arms. I know you guys more now….

  12. Caroline says:

Amazing, all these tiny details that are different.

  13. Barbara L says:

Turtles are such interesting creatures! I enjoy reading your informational posts about them. And Lucy, Puppy Princess, and I both think they are so cute!

    • Novroz says:

hi Barbara…nice to see Lucy’s mom here.
I have been visiting Lucy’s blog but there is no update…will visit again later to check whether Lucy has written something 🙂

Thank you for enjoying my turtles’ blog and it’s nice to know that you think they are cute…because they indeed so cute xx

  14. Kroten is flying like Isis on old Sat. morning cartoons,if you could see inside her shell you would know that her arms are facing backwards -just like Isis. well maybe not

Kame is clearly more grounded and lacking a birds-eye view he seems very dependent on his compass.

please forgive these brash ideas for a first post
    just very excited about content

  15. catchatcaren says:

I thought this post was super interesting, some would think all turtles are the same, but just like other species they are all different!!

  16. the snapper can bond very tightly but its best to not let him do it 🙂

    he always comes to me
